Description of plant: An evergreen tree growing to a height of ~18–20 m, native to Madagascar
Nature of oil: Warm with a hint of spice
Method of oil extraction: Steam distillation of the leaves
Blends well with: Rosemary, frankincense, eucalyptus, geranium, cedarwood, grapefruit, lavender, pine, thyme, peppermint, tea tree, tangerine
Specific precautions required: None known for normal dosage
Stress-relieving properties include: Aids irritability, stress, nervous tension and insomnia
Medical properties include: Antibacterial; antiviral (can be used in the treatment of flu, sinusitis, bronchitis, and herpes simplex [cold sores] and herpes zoster [shingles])

For the best effects, it is advisable to buy pure essential oils. Products containing synthetic ingredients will not provide the same degree of benefit.
