Description of plant: A perennial herb with dark green leaves and hairy stems, growing up to 3 feet high. It spreads prolifically via rhizomes
Nature of oil: Pale yellow liquid. The aroma is fresh and minty
Method of oil extraction: Steam distillation of flowering tops
Blends well with: Clary sage, eucalyptus, geranium, lavender, lemon, rosemary
Specific precautions required: May irritate sensitive skin. Use sparingly. Avoid during pregnancy and while nursing
Stress-relieving properties include: Clarifying; good for mental fatigue, overwork, apathy, concentration, vitality
Medical properties include: Bruises, sprains and strains, swellings, toothache, muscular aches and pain, halitosis, indigestion, irritable bowel syndrome (oil to be taken in the form of capsules), flatulence, mouth ulcers, mouth thrush, nausea, headache, migraine
