Description of plant: A fast-growing aromatic grass, native of tropical Asia
Nature of oil: Reddish yellow amber oil with a strong, sweet, lemony earthy aroma; uplifting and cooling
Method of oil extraction: Steam distillation of the fresh and partially dried grass
Blends well with: Bergamot, cardamom, chamomile roman, clove, eucalyptus, geranium, ginger, lavender, myrrh, palmarosa, patchouli, petitgrain, rosemary
Specific precautions required: Use sparingly; may irritate sensitive skin
Stress-relieving properties include: Focusing; good for concentration, nervous and mental exhaustion, depression and other stress-related disorders
Medical properties include: Analgesic, antidepressant, antioxidant, antiseptic, antibacterial, astringent, antifungal, insecticidal; good for athlete’s foot, scabies, muscular aches and pain, gastrointestinal problems, headaches
